Dr. Laura Zweifler
Dr. Laura Zweifler achieved her dream of becoming a dentist after earning her Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biology from The Ohio State University and her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. Dr. Laura wanted to be a dentist since she was just three years old to follow in her father’s footsteps. Although he is retired, she still gets to learn from his years of experience as they discuss cases often. In high school, Dr. Laura became interested in tooth development, which led her to discover science research. She completed summer internships at the University of Washington and National Institutes of Health where she studied tooth development. Dr. Laura saw the importance of evidence based care, and continued on to study immune cells in bone for her dissertation. Today, Dr. Laura uses that knowledge to provide evidence based care to her patients. Dr. Laura has authored multiple articles published in peer reviewed journals.
Dr. Laura has a patient and caring bedside manner because she wants all of her patients to feel comfortable at the dentist, even if that means overcoming fears. You will often see her showing patients their imaging and explaining findings with models and photos. She wants her patients to get as excited about teeth as she does!
When Dr. Laura isn’t at work, she spends a lot of time with her rescued dog, Ophie. She also enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and admits to watching too much reality TV. Dr. Laura looks forward to getting to see you at your next appointment!
